The Comments

Archival collections of the Vorša Land Provincial Court 1 in the Central Archives in Viciebsk (currently stored in the National Historical Archives of the Republic of Belarus in Miensk), which formed the basis of the so-called “Orša Armorial”, were severely damaged by fire and are in poor condition. Parts of the records were lost irregularly (burned or damaged by water). For this reason, the list of the nobility is not fully preserved. However, copies of the court decrees can be found in the archives of the NDA (Nobility Deputation Assembly) in Miensk, Vilnia, Horadnia, and other governorates.

The reconstructed arms can be seen on the page "The Armorial of Greatlitvan Nobility".

* The numbering in the source has been broken.

1 The Provincial Land Courts were established by the decree of Empress Catherine II on April 16, 1773, simultaneously with the creation of the Mahiloŭ and Pskov Provinces. Six courts operated: those of Viciebsk, Mahiloŭ, Vorša, Połacak, Amścisłaŭ, and Rahačoŭ. They were abolished by decrees issued on March 22, 1777, and January 10, 1778, as a result of the division of the provinces into paviets (districts).

2 They are neophytes (ennobled under the Constitution of the Coronation Sejm ‘On the Neophytes of the GDL’ of 1764). No coat-of-arms names or images were attached to their lineage documents.

3This is an alternative name for the Radwan coat of arms. However, the source presents a rather loose interpretation of this coat of arms.

4 The source provides an image of a coat of arms (own) that actually has nothing in common with the classic coat of arms of this name.

5 In the original documents, only part of the coat of arms is shown — "half of a goat turned to the viewer's right".
